Default -dmg only applies to phys now...

so are there any shields, armors, absorb runes, etc. that still take damage off of magical attacks (except armors that say +armor vs fire or some such thing)???

If the answer is no, then I guess -5(20%) shields were hurt bad, but so was everything else so they still come out above the rest. Would that be correct?

There are shields with +armor vs certain types of dmg, like Fire or Cold dmg. But no eaasy to get collectors/green versions.

acording to the offical GW site the - damage received now only works on physical damage, so only shields with armor + 10 vs fire as you said will be able to reduce the fire dmg.(-dmg mods won't affect it anymore)
the base armor of shields will still effect the dmg as well

The update sounded to me like armor in general, please tell me it is only the runes,sheilds, and only the armor like knights and ascalon?

I just got a gold tall shield req 10 tactics with armor+10 vs earth magic last night before I went to bed. I merched it... Then I wake up to this, wish I had kept that sucker.

Yeah lots of people with warriors are crying.

And now it seems like half of all ranger bow shots disable pet skills for however long.

Now my in stance sheild wont work like it used to...at least it is collectors I almost bought an eternal sheild with the same stats yesterday.

Well I was kinda hoping that this update to the armour was just to reflect code already in the game and that the shield I use would not become a noticed change against magic damage.

Now I'm glad I started that Necro when I did, but oh god what a significant change to have it just go thru a patch.

I suppose with the upgrade of the storage boxes creating more room for items, warriors having to carry more shields has to be one of the offsets

Anet should buff Knight's armor set. Make its damage reduction vs all damage rather than physical. Maybe increase the reduction too. Give a REAL reason to use Knight's... =/

Agreed, Knight's armor is.. even more useless than it was before now.

Knights armor has become pretty useless, since most warriors already have a high defense vs physical, but the elemental dmg mods will work way better vs warriors now -.-

Umm yeah if I was you I'd hang onto it still. For me the only change this really affects more than anything is PvP and running.

I'll still hold on to my stance shields and physical reduction shields only I will try find some of the v's "the elements" stuff as well.

Just wish GW's had a wardrobe feature so I could easily switch gears on the go.

Armor levels are unchanged, only the absorption features are changed - knight's, ascalon, runes, shields.

It only affect absorption .. not armor al or base sheild al
